These include NHL 14 achievements, NHL 15 achievements, NHL 15 (Xbox 360) achievements, NHL Legacy Edition, NHL 16 achievements, NHL 17 achievements, and NHL 18 achievements. With the closure of servers for the five NHL titles, fans will no longer have access to online achievements. If players want to play online, they'll have to rely on NHL 19 up until the current era to get their fix. Some may even prefer the feel of NHL 16 and the variety of features they brought back that weren't available in NHL 15. It's a sad note nonetheless, as fans of the older franchise to this day enjoy playing with their friends, both personal and online, in some of the older titles that offer modes not made available in the newer versions. The massive list of games facing the same type of shutdown goes to show that as online gaming evolves and brings to life new installments, the older titles get ultimately hit with the unfortunate circumstance of becoming irrelevant in the minds of the gaming community. Luckily, the retro NHL 94 anniversary mode introduced in NHL 14 is an offline feature, making it possible that it'll be playable after the server shutdown. With the uncertainty of providing an excellent online experience along with the yearly release of new titles, it was only a matter of time before this decision came into effect. Players will still have the option of playing all offline modes, but the online format will no longer be available to its player base. On the EA service updates page, it's made clear that due to the effective games reaching an all-time low in player activity, the sustainability of maintaining the servers for these games is no longer viable. Offline codingĪnother huge advantage of using a local development environment is that you can code offline. If you’re using a local WordPress development environment, there are no limits. Most hosting providers have limits on the number of staging sites you can have. It also gets rid of any network latency, so caching isn’t even really needed. If you’re testing locally, this relies on the resources of your computer. If you’re bouncing around testing things, this can be frustrating. However, the result is that sometimes the staging site will be slower than the live site. You have to remember that hosting providers have bills too. Either they have caching turned off for development purposes (this is a good thing when testing) or fewer resources (PHP workers, RAM) than the live site. ![]() However, the problem behind many of these is that they are sometimes limited. While Wunderlist and Todoist provide a wide array of apps, To-Do is limited to Android, iPhone, and Windows Phone. Synchronization of Outlook to To-Do: Where is the Benefit? (Image: Microsoft) To-Do is unable to do either of those things. In my case of application, creating tasks from email is very common, as well as the creation of tasks from within websites. To me, the calendar integrations, as well as those to Google Mail are essential. ![]() Wunderlist and Todoist both come with a ton of integrations with other services, in different shapes and depth. Things get even darker when talking about the app environment. To-Do is Completely Isolated: No Connection to the Outside To-Do doesn't allow for anything like that, neither shortcuts nor files. In many of my Wunderlist and Todoist tasks, there are files attached, including information such as images or briefings, some as Dropbox shortcuts. You still need to add them to "My Day" manually, though. At least, you'll find the overdue tasks that you didn't get done with yesterday. Clicking it opens a list of recommendations for today. In Microsoft's defense, we should mention that they have added a light bulb icon to the "My Day" view. Thus, "My Day" is a good choice for a dentist appointment, but not for professional tasks. Second, not every task can be completed within a day. In To-Do, there's only "My Day", and it has to be filled manually. ![]() In Todoist, for instance, there are automatic lists for "Today", and "Next 7 Days". First, there are no other lists that would be filled depending on time. However, I realized two things after thinking about it for a while. In this list, you put all the tasks you want to get done with today. What I liked about To-Do at first, was the concept of "My Day". In the times of the sharing economy, this is just as incredible as useless. Tasks can't be delegated, lists can't be shared. Speaking of collaboration, To-Do doesn't provide the slightest bit of support for teamwork. This feature is not only crucial for collaborations with multiple members, but also great to include information on a task that is important, but not relevant to the status of completion. To-Do is Consistent: No Basic- and No Pro-Features On top of that, there is no option to sort task lists into folders, in order to create a better division of job-related and private task lists or to simply sort them by projects. I have already mentioned the lack of subtasks. Barely any features that I know from Wunderlist or Todoist are available. However, disillusionment set in very quickly. The design similarities to Wunderlist can't be denied. At a glance, To-Do looks modern, close to the material design from a completely different house, as well as slim and fast. Huh? Can't To-Do even manage subtasks? Gnashing my teeth, I selected the note version.Īfter a short while, the import was completed and I went to the web app to gain a first impression of a completely filled task list under To-Do. It asked me to decide whether I wanted to import the subtasks as single tasks, or as a note for the main task. I frowned for the first time when To-Do told me that it found tasks with subtasks in my Wunderlist account and that it wasn't able to import them like this. At this point, I was still in cheerful spirits. During the process, I was asked if I wanted to import my tasks from Wunderlist or Todoist. However, many calipers are not what they used to be. They’re still good, and better than you’d find in lower price ranges. Most agree the quality of Starrett’s measuring tools has declined since their move to Chinese factories. Some of their tools are made in Brazil, but all caliper products are made in Japan. In addition, there are occasionally bombs that the player should not hit, and obstacles in the form of oncoming walls that the player's head should avoid.
